Find answers to common questions about DTF transfers, gang sheets, shipping, care, and application.

DTF stands for Direct-to-Film. DTF transfers are heat transfers where a design is printed onto a special film using high-quality inks. A powdered adhesive is applied, cured, and then transferred onto fabric using a heat press or, in some cases, a home iron.
You can place an order by uploading your design, choosing the size and quantity, and completing your order through our website. If you are ordering two or more prints, the most cost-effective option is usually to use a gang sheet builder.
A DTF gang sheet is a single sheet of transfer film that includes multiple designs or multiple copies of the same design. It helps you:
  • Save money
  • Reduce material waste
  • Print multiple designs at once
  • Use sheet space more efficiently
Yes, design support may be available depending on the artwork and changes needed. Basic adjustments such as sizing, layout preparation, and minor cleanup can usually be reviewed before printing.
In some cases, yes. Background removal depends on the quality and resolution of the design. For best results, submit high-resolution artwork with a transparent background whenever possible.
Shipping options may vary depending on your location and the service selected at checkout. Standard ground shipping, faster delivery options, and express shipping may be available.
DTF transfers offer many benefits:
  • Bright, full-colour prints
  • Soft feel on fabric
  • Strong durability
  • Works on light and dark garments
  • No weeding required
  • Great for fine details and small text
  • Suitable for small and bulk orders
DTF transfers work on cotton, polyester, cotton/polyester blends, canvas, light-coloured fabrics, and dark-coloured fabrics. They are commonly used for t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, caps, and workwear.
Recommended heat press temperatures:
  • 100% Polyester: Around 240°F
  • Cotton/Polyester Blend: Around 260°F
  • 100% Cotton: Around 280°F
Pre-press the garment for 5 seconds, place the transfer, cover it with parchment or teflon paper, press for 10 seconds with medium pressure, peel the film, then press again for 5–6 seconds.
With proper application and care, DTF transfers can last for many washes, often up to 50+ washes. Durability depends on artwork quality, ink and film quality, heat press settings, fabric type, and washing method.
Yes. Turn the garment inside out, wash with cold water, use mild detergent, avoid bleach and harsh chemicals, tumble dry low or hang to dry, and never iron directly over the design.
Cracking can happen because of incorrect temperature, not enough pressure, pressing for too long or too short, poor-quality materials, fabric shrinking, harsh washing, or using hot water and strong detergents.
A hot peel transfer means the film can be peeled from the garment while it is still hot, immediately after pressing. Hot peel transfers are designed for faster production and strong bonding when applied correctly.
Yes, bulk pricing may be available for larger orders. Bulk orders are ideal for clothing brands, print shops, businesses, events, and customers who need multiple transfers.
Most print-ready orders are processed quickly, usually within 1–2 business days. Turnaround time may vary depending on order size, artwork quality, production schedule, and busy seasons.
Yes. DTFPRINTANDSTITCH offers custom DTF transfer printing services for individuals, businesses, brands, and creators.

Because DTF transfers are custom-made to order, returns are not accepted. If there is a production issue, it should be reported within 48 hours of receiving the order. Clear photos may be required for review.
This may happen because of wrong temperature, not enough pressure, pressing for too short or too long, overheating, not pre-pressing the garment, moisture, wrinkles, or fabric type. Different fabrics need different settings.
Fading can happen because of incorrect pressing, too much heat, too little pressure, hot water, harsh detergent, bleach, fabric softener, or rough washing. For best results, wash garments inside out with cold water and mild detergent.
DTFPRINTANDSTITCH focuses on premium quality, attention to detail, custom printing support, fast turnaround, and an easy ordering process for businesses, brands, and creators.
With proper application and care, our DTF transfers are made to withstand repeated washing while keeping their colour and finish. With proper care, they can last up to 50+ washes.
